THURROCK Council has teamed up with IKEA to ensure Christmas trees are disposed of properly in the new year.
For a week in January, the West Thurrock furniture store, in Heron Way, will be have somewhere for people to drop off their real trees, for them to be collected and composted by Thurrock Council.
The tree collections point will be in the outside fenced off area, opposite the Ikea’s customer services and home delivery entrance, and will be open on Sunday, January 6, and Sunday, January 12, from 11am until 3pm, and Monday, January 7, to Friday, January 11, from 10am to 6pm.
It will also be open on Saturday, January 12, from 9am to 6pm.
