Angela Poplett, Lakeside’s Personal Shopper, is here to help you plan your year of feel-good shopping and share some top tips for when is best to shop for everything you need in 2012.

She said: “I see a lot of ladies throughout the year who spend hours searching for items that just aren’t widely available in the shops at that particular time. So, I’ve compiled a shopping calendar for you to follow this year to ensure you find the best items for every occasion.

“The start of the year is the perfect time to shop for work wear, for example. Oasis has some lovely floral and nautical pieces that will be perfect teamed with smart separates from Zara. Or, if you need to go for something sharper, team a Warehouse blouse with tailored shirts, skirts or complete suits from TM Lewin and Next.

“As we move into February, March and April, occasionwear hits the stores in force. This means it’s the ideal time to shop for high summer weddings. Lakeside’s Monsoon and Coast are always my first points of call for wedding outfits, but at this time in the year you’ll find great options everywhere.

“From the end of April through to the end of June, it’s all about shopping for summer. If you’re shopping in the peak season you can’t beat H&M and Republic for beachwear on a budget.

“After the summer season the stores move into a transitional period with new back-to-work pieces, before partywear is everywhere once again. If you’re on a budget, Primark offers items that are right on trend, but if you’ve got a bit more money to spend, Lakeside’s Wallis is one of my favourites for party pieces that never seem to date.

“So, that’s your year’s worth of shopping sorted but don’t forget about the main sales that tend to take place in December/January and June/July. Everyone loves a bargain, after all.”
