TILBURY and Grays Athletic suffered Isthmian North defeats to Maldon & Tiptree and Brentwood Town respectively.

The Dockers travelled to Park Drive looking to bounce back from their 3-0 loss to Bowers & Pitsea in midweek.

But Maldon & Tiptree, who just missed out on promotion to the Isthmian Premier League last season due to a play-off final defeat to Thurrock, proved too strong for Gary Henty's side as they secured a 4-2 win.

The Jammers took the lead after 16 minutes, with Ryan Gondoh on target.

And the Dockers were to concede two first half penalties to give themselves an uphill task.

Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe converted both spot kicks, which came after 20 and 45 minutes.

And the attacker went onto complete a hat-trick as he found the back of the net after 67 minutes.

However, Tilbury were able to come away from Park Drive with a more respectable scoreline as Luke Hornsley bagged a brace.

Meanwhile, Grays Athletic dropped to third from bottom in the Isthmian North standings as they fell to a 1-0 home defeat to Brentwood Town.

Andrew Freeman netted the only goal of the game on the stroke of half time to condemn Jamie Stuart's side to their seventh league defeat of the season.
