THURROCK suffered a 2-1 defeat to Harlow Town in their FA Cup first qualifying round replay.

Lewwis Spence scored a late equaliser for Mark Stimson's side in the initial tie at Ship Lane on Saturday.

And although the midfielder, who returned to the club in the summer, got on the scoresheet once again, Reece Dobson and Nigel Neite guided the Hawks into the second qualifying round.

Harlow Town will now travel to Lowestoft Town for the next FA Cup tie at Thurrock's expense.

Spence fired Fleet into a 15th minute lead after a deflection fell to the away side's captain in the penalty area, and he rifled home.

But the hosts hit back within three minutes as Dobson finished from close range following a Fabion Simms cross.

And the Hawks were to complete the turnaround on 63 minutes.

James Baker nodded down a corner and Neite converted from close range to condemn Fleet to a first qualifying round exit.

Thurrock: Mason, Morgan, Sutton (Goode 68'), Osifuwa, G. Winn, Clark, Christou, Spence, Stimson, R. Winn, Ogi (Nouble 68')
