Lamar Jackson ran his way into the history books on Thursday, breaking Michael Vick’s single-season quarterback rushing record during the Baltimore Ravens’ 42-21 win over the New York Jets.
Jackson finished with eight carries for 86 yards and improved his season total to 1103 – 64 more than Vick’s mark of 1039, which he set in 2006.
The records didn’t stop there for Jackson as the 22-year-old also threw for five touchdowns to tie Vinny Testaverde’s single-season franchise record of 33.
Despite a solid effort from quarterback Sam Darnold, New York struggled to contain Baltimore, falling to 5-9 for the season.
The victory sees the Ravens clinch the AFC North division title for the second time in two years as they continue to hone in on top spot in the conference.
