GRAYS Athletic threw away a two-goal lead as Haringey Borough came from behind late on to secure a 3-3 draw.

Jamie Slabber and an Ade Cole brace did not prove to be enough for Jamie Stuart's men, as the hosts conceded two goals in the final three minutes at Parkside and were made to settle for a share of the spoils.

Slabber fired Grays in front after 38 minutes. The Haringey defence failed to deal with a Grays free kick, and Slabber turned and finished well.

The hosts doubled their advantage three minutes later. Cole broke into the away side's penalty area before slamming past Haringey goalkeeper Valery Pajetet.

Both sides went in at the break with Grays two goals to the good, and the Isthmian League's final unbeaten record was in jeopardy.

But Haringey hit back four minutes after the interval as Ralston Gabriel found the back of the net from close range.

However, Grays restored their two goal lead soon after as Cole hit home through a crowded penalty area.

The away goalkeeper tipped over Kieran Bishop and Slabber efforts, but Haringey gave themselves hope on 87 minutes as Gabriel headed into the net from two yards out.

And Gabriel was to complete his hat-trick in the dying moments as he was left unmarked at a Haringey free kick.

As a result, Stuart's side were left to rue missed opportunities and were unable to climb into the Isthmian North top 10.
