SOL Campbell is back on the radar of Southend United chairman Ron Martin.
The Shrimpers are still on the look-out for a new manager after failing to complete a deal with Henrik Larsson earlier this week.
But Martin admitted Campbell - who has already been interviewed for the role - is still in the running for the job.
“Sol is on my radar,” Martin told Talksport.
“I was impressed by him in the interview. He’s an eloquent guy and he’s passionate too.
“I like his team, he’s available and it’s not impossible.”
Campbell - who kept Macclesfield Town up last season - is believed to have suggested ex Man United striker Andy Cole and former Ipswich Town defender Hermann Hreidarsson would be in his backroom team.
