Back in training - Southend United defender Rob Kiernan
SOUTHEND United defender Rob Kiernan is back in training.
The centre-back, who can also play in midfield, picked up an ankle problem on the eve of the season.
But Blues boss Kevin Bond is pleased to see the 28-year-old closing in on a return.
"It was Rob's first day training but he’s back ahead of schedule," said Bond.
"We were told it would be four weeks plus but he’s worked really hard to get back and it was great to see him back out there."
