ECHOSPORT talks to Peterborough United fan Levi Crisp ahead of tonight’s game at Roots Hall.

Why do you feel the season has not gone to plan so far?

“As usual, the transfer window has led to half a new squad and this has meant starting an entirely new back four and goalkeeper.

“We appear to be having a few problems finding the right starting line-up, formation and individual errors have cost us.

“That said, performances have been getting progressively better and I still think once we get the first win, it will be the start of a good run.”

Is everyone still confident the season can be a success?

“The start has put some doubt in the idea that we are genuine title challengers, but the reality is we are just three games into a 46 game season, so nobody should be too down.

“We have made some good signings on paper and, differently to recent years, kept hold of all of our best players who took us to within a point of the play-offs last season.

“So, I think most remain confident this season will be a good one.”

What are the targets for Posh this season?

“Winning the League, the Checkatrade Trophy, an FA Cup run and about 150 goals if you believe the chairman!

“In all seriousness, promotion is definitely the realistic aim and failure to make the top six this season would be seen as a serious underachievement given the money spent this summer.”

Who would you say is the dangerman?

“The combination of Marcus Maddison and Ivan Toney.

“Maddison’s assist statistics remain excellent and Toney looks like building on a 20 goal plus season last time out.

“Those two have formed an excellent partnership with Toney’s presence from Maddison’s crosses and I wouldn’t be surprised if they combined again on Tuesday.”

What’s the team news for tonight’s game?

“There are no injury worries for us and we are likely to play a 4-4-2 midfield diamond sticking with the same team who drew with Ipswich on Saturday.

“The one potential change could be in goal, with summer signing Christy Pym making multiple mistakes in the opening four games and pre-season.

“Aaron Chapman could come in.”
