AVELEY suffered last minute heartbreak as they were made to settle for a point against Norwich United.
The Millers were looking to secure their second Isthmian North win in three outings as the fellow strugglers travelled to Parkside.
And although Alex Teniola gave the home side the lead, Sam Watts levelled in the dying moments to register a 1-1 draw.
Mark Twumasi hit the side netting early on, but Aveley were to take the lead with 17 minutes on the clock.
Teniola had been denied by goalkeeper Andy Wilton just a minute earlier, but the attacker hit back and broke the deadlock with a powerful header.
Teniola passed up a good chance to make it 2-0 inside 18 minutes as he sent an opportunity over the crossbar, while Jordan Watson's overhead kick also missed the target just before the break.
Watson struck the post soon after half-time and Robbie Rees was brilliantly denied by Walton, who was in inspired form, as the Millers went in search of a second goal.
Liam Moriarty thought he had pulled Norwich level, only for George Woodward to clear the striker's effort off the goal-line.
Six minutes were added on at the end of the second half and Aveley were unable to hold on.
Rhys Madden tipped a Norwich effort onto the post in the third minute of stoppage time, but Watts poked home with the last kick of the game to allow the visitors to take a share of the spoils.
