WOMENS RUGBY: CHAMPIONSHIP South winners T-Birds won their play-off battle with northern stars Camp Hill on Sunday to gain promotion to the Premiership.
Thurrock Ladies won the Championship Cup and became the first Essex Rugby side of either sex to achieve promotion to the Premiership.
The game started well for the T-Birds, but their rivals were a tough outfit and the final 20 minutes were a nail-biting affair for the T-Birds.
The Borough side had scored three early tries and looked to have the game won.
But Camp Hill, winners of Championship One North, hit back with a brace of tries of their own to set up an agonising end to the contest.
