SAILING: Saturday’s Dauntless Boatyard-sponsored Brass Monkey Trophy - which is run annually from Leigh-on-Sea Sailing Club - starts at 2pm on January 8, with the high tide at 3.03pm. It is expected that some Thurrock-based sailors will be on the start line. The briefing for the event will be at the clubhouse at 1pm.
Race officers have a choice of making either a westerly start - towards Old Leigh - or an easterly start, taking dinghy racers towards the pier.
Approximate positions of the marks to be used on the day will be displayed in the upstairs saloon of the Leigh SC clubhouse about one hour before the start.
