SNOOKER: Ali Carter is set to face Peter Ebdon in the first round of snooker’s Masters.
The world number seven, who grew up in Tiptree, will do battle with his good friend on Sunday night (starting at 7pm).
Colchester-born Carter started this season in the best possible style by winning the Shanghai Masters.
It was his second ranking title, having won the Welsh Open in 2009.
