Tilbury 3, Brentwood Town 1 Ryman League Division One North Tilbury welcomes Brentwood Town to Chadfields on August Bank Holiday Monday 31st August.

The Dockers looking to kick start their season after a lacklustre start, having played 4 lost 3 and drawn one.

Manlee Brown missing through injury this season is named on the subs bench. Dockers Boss Graham Chester naming Julio Barnes in his starting 11 along with new signing Kayan Kalipha playing up front with Chris Taylor.

Both sides looked nervous in the opening 20 minutes with neither side looking to take the initiative. The first action of the game resulted in the Dockers finding the net 25 minutes into the game, Ben Bradbury with the ball just outside the visitors box, back heels the ball into the path of Kayan Kalipha who neatly dummies the Brentwood defence by faking to go left giving him enough room to penetrate into the box, Kalipha full of confidence as he drops his shoulder and connects with the ball well as it rockets into the bottom corner of the net, 1-0 to the Dockers.

Joe Keith back to his attacking best, with new signing Julio Barnes playing just behind Keith allowing the attacking defender to push up and support the midfield, really good to see Keith back to his creative best as he sets off Ben Bradbury into the Brentwood box, Bradbury using his pace to break free of the defence pack, however the ball just run a yard too far’ as the Brentwood Keeper – Ronnie Worster comes out to collect.

40 minutes gone and a long ball up field by Glen Golby looks to be going out of play, and would have done had it not been for a determined Ben Bradbury managing to hook on the ball just on the by-line across goal and into the path of Kalipha, Kalipha with his back to goal lays the ball neatly into the path of Chris Taylor and from 18 yards Taylor smashes the ball over the bar.

Into the second half and the Dockers extend their lead in the 50th Minute, Julio Barnes pushed to the ground and is awarded a free kick 25 yards from goal. Joe Keith steps up and floats the ball to the back post where Rickie Hayles was waiting with a glancing header into the net, 2-0 to the Dockers.

Tilbury continue to press the Brentwood defence, and force a corner, Joe Keith sends the ball across goal and Christian Wheeler rises high to nod the ball inches just over the bar.

54 minutes and against the run of play Brentwood pull one back, a great solo effort by Petrit Elbi who does well to create some room in the Dockers box, as the tricky striker slides the ball into the net, 2-1.

Dockers make their first substitute, the hard working Chris Taylor makes way for Manlee Brown.

62 minutes and another Tilbury corner sees Manlee Brown this time rise high at the back post, the bustling striker connects well with his head, Brentwood look relieved as the ball rockets just over the bar.

Dockers extend their lead in the 81st , Skipper Wallace brings the ball up-field into the Brentwood half, Wallace looks to square the ball but instead decides to drive on deeper into the Brentwood half and gets within 5 yards of the Visitors box, Wallace looks up and notices Julio Barnes making his run at the back post and sends-in a pinpoint pass to the tall defender, who nods the ball into the net, 3-1 to the Dockers.

Tilbury make another substitute, Kayan Kalipha makes way for Lee Hayes.

The Dockers ensure possession is kept as they run down the clock, 2 extra minutes played for injury time and the game is finally brought to a halt by match official Mr Oldershaw who alongside his assistants Mr Weston and Mr Brooks marshalled the game extremely well.
