TOIB Adeyemi is excited to have joined Bowers & Pitsea and feels he will improve during his time with his new employers.

The defender, who was released by Isthmian North high-flyers Heybridge Swifts earlier this month, has made the move to the Len Salmon Stadium to bolster Rob Small's options.

And Adeyemi took to social media to express his delight at switching to Bowers.

"I'm happy to have joined such a big club with great players and management," tweeted Adeyemi.

"I can only get better here."

Adeyemi made his debut in Bowers' 1-1 draw with Cheshunt - who are managed by ex-Billericay Town boss Craig Edwards - on Tuesday.

Although Zack Newton put Cheshunt in front, Brad Warner levelled matters from the penalty spot.

Adeyemi slotted straight into Small's backline and helped to ensure Bowers came away from the Isthmian Premier League clash with a share of the spoils.

Ex-Basildon United midfielder Danny Norton also made his full debut in the encounter.

Bowers first team coach Gary Henty was keen to praise Adeyemi and Norton.

"We had two new lads who have come in," said Henty.

"Danny Norton played a couple of minutes on Saturday but he started and did really well.

"Obviously, Toib has come in and he made his debut.

"Unfortunately, we haven't had the chance to get him into training and see the lads.

"He came straight into the team and I thought they performed really well, as did all of the lads.

"They really put a shift in to get a point."
