CONCORD Rangers are into the third round of the FA Trophy for the first time in the club’s history after sealing a late 2-1 replay win at Bath City.

The two sides went head-to-head after two postponements at Twerton Park, having played out a 1-1 draw in the initial tie.

Billy Roast gave the Beach Boys the lead with a thumping header, but National League South rivals Bath drew level nine minutes later through Ryan Brunt’s spot-kick.

It looked as though the tie was heading for extra-time, but Joel Nouble struck with just two minutes remaining to ensure Concord are among the last 16 sides remaining in the competition.

Danny Scopes’ side will do battle with Leamington at the Aspect Arena with a place in the quarter-finals up for grabs.

Meanwhile, in the Isthmian Premier League, Bowers & Pitsea came from behind to register a 1-1 draw against Cheshunt.

Zack Newton gave Cheshunt, who are managed by former Billericay Town boss Craig Edwards, the lead against the run of play.

But Bowers claimed a share of the spoils as Brad Warner converted from the spot.

Canvey Island returned to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over 10-man Cambridge City at Park Lane.

Jason Hallett handed the Gulls an 18th minute lead and matters got worse for the visitors when Taylor Horne was dismissed five minutes later for bringing down Sam Bantick when the ex-Cambridge man was through on goal.

Canvey made use of their numerical advantage immediately as Albert Levett raced through and, although he was denied, Seb Simpson found the back of his own net.

Arel Amu halved Cambridge’s deficit 11 minutes before the interval, but Canvey secured all three points.
