EAST Thurrock United broke into the Isthmian Premier League play-off places thanks to a 3-0 win over Leatherhead.

A Frankie Merrifield brace and Darren Foxley effort allowed John Coventry’s side to triumph at the Grayers Graphics Stadium.

Having already seen Foxley and Mitch Gilbey frustrated by a Zaki Oualah double save early on, Rocks took a 25th minute lead thanks to Merrifield.

East Thurrock wrapped up the win with two late goals.

Foxley blocked a clearance and claimed his first goal for the club on 88 minutes while, in injury time, Merrifield forced an error from Oualah before slotting into an empty net.

Isthmian Premier League rivals Bowers & Pitsea lost 1-0 to Margate thanks to Reece Prestedge slamming home in first half injury time.

Concord Rangers fought back from a two-goal deficit to record a 3-3 draw with Dorking Wanderers.

Danny Scopes’ side took the lead thanks to a Danny Green spot-kick awarded for handball.

But the National League South clash was quickly turned on its head as goals from Jack Barham and James McShane in the space of two minutes ensured Dorking went ahead.

Tom Richards tapped home from close range five minutes after the break to put daylight between the two sides.

However, Jack Cawley gave Concord hope with 13 minutes remaining as the central defender’s free-kick crossed the goal-line via the underside of the crossbar.

And the Beach Boys snatched a share of the spoils as Joel Nouble converted from the penalty spot in the dying moments.
