JAMIE O’Hara admits Billericay Town have been forced to make some tough decisions after allowing fan favourites Sam Deering and Moses Emmanuel to leave the club.

Deering has moved back into full-time football by joining National League side Dagenham & Redbridge, while Emmanuel has also ended his stay at New Lodge.

And O’Hara insists seeing the duo depart was the best outcome for all parties.

Player-manager O’Hara said: “We’re in great shape because we’ve got a group of players who are all on contracts now.

“We have got a great squad of players and some very good loan players in.

“We have had to make some tough decisions and lose Sam Deering and Moses Emmanuel, who have had to be released.

“Sammy was a fantastic servant at the football club and we all love him.

“We wish him all the best and he had an opportunity to go to a National League side.

“He is going back to playing full-time football and it was the best thing for both parties.

“We have had to let Moses go to keep the club sustainable.

“He was another fantastic servant to the football club and was player of the year last season.

“I wish him all the best because he has been incredible for us.

“They are both losses but, with what we have got coming in and where we are now in terms of the budget and the sustainability of the football club, it was a fantastic move for us all. The club is in brilliant hands.”

However, there will be some fresh faces in Billericay’s squad for the trip to Dulwich Hamlet tomorrow.

Josh Urquhart has sealed his return to New Lodge following a spell with National League South rivals Braintree Town, while Deon Moore has joined on loan from Bristol Rovers.

Former Milton Keynes Dons midfielder Andrew Osei-Bonsu could also make his Town debut.

O’Hara added: “Josh Urquhart has come back. I’m a massive fan of his and I never wanted him to leave in the first place.

“He is a big addition to the squad.

“Andrew joined us but hasn’t been able to play yet because of being cup-tied.

“He played for MK Dons and I’m very excited about what he can bring to us.

“We have been lucky enough to do a deal with Bristol Rovers for Deon Moore.

“He is a big striker who is strong and will give us height.

“He is exactly what we needed in terms of bolstering the squad.”
