DARREN Manning admits Hullbridge Sports are going into the unknown tomorrow.

Sports are set to make the trip to Dereham Town for an Isthmian North encounter.

But Hullbridge chief Manning concedes he is not sure what to expect from their 13th-placed Norfolk hosts.

“I haven’t got a clue about them,” said Manning.

“We will be focusing solely on ourselves.

“We are always looking to improve and we have been working on a new system which we are mulling over whether to use this weekend.

“They have been in this division for a while, so we know Dereham will be a good side but we are focusing fully on ourselves, while sometimes goes in your favour anyway.”

Sports, who are 10th in the standings and two points better off than Dereham, head into the fixture having suffered a narrow 1-0 Essex Senior Cup third round defeat to National League outfit Dagenham & Redbridge.

And Manning is confident his side will pick up a positive result if they can replicate their performance against the Daggers.

“We definitely deserved something from the game against Dagenham,” added Manning.

“They brought an extremely strong side down to the Ryan’s Heating Stadium for the game and the boys stepped up to the challenge.

“We showed great character and I told the boys after the game that if we could bottle up how we performed and bring it to every single game, we can upset a lot of teams.

“It’s important that we find that consistency.”
