DARREN Manning is keen for Sam Taylor to enjoy ‘one more magical night’ before bringing his Hullbridge Sports career to an end.

Taylor is set to bring the curtain down on an eight-year stay at the Ryan’s Heating Stadium when the Isthmian North side take on Dagenham & Redbridge in the third round of the Essex Senior Cup tonight.

And Manning was eager to praise Taylor’s commitment to the club.

“It’s a massive game for more than one reason as it will also be the last for Sam Taylor after eight years,” said the Hullbridge chief.

“He has been an incredible servant to the club and I just hope we can give him one more magical night at the Bridge.”

Dagenham, who are managed by former Canvey Island and Southend United winger Peter Taylor, will make the trip to the Ryan’s Heating Stadium looking to avoid an Essex Senior Cup upset.

The Daggers, like Hullbridge, were without a fixture at the weekend after their National League clash at Stockport County was postponed.

Dagenham were due to travel to the encounter via train from London Euston Station but, due to an incident in the Milton Keynes area, scheduled departures were cancelled.

As a result, the Daggers had no option but to call off the fixture.

And Manning is looking forward to facing a National League side.

Manning added: “It’s great to get one of the bigger clubs in the competition.

“It’s a realistic chance to win against a full-time side and see what we have.”
