BOWERS & Pitsea, East Thurrock United, Basildon United and Canvey Island were involved in the FA Trophy first qualifying round draw this afternoon.

Basildon secured their passage through to this stage of the competition thanks to their late 3-2 win over Brentwood Town on Saturday.

And the Bees' reward is a home tie against Chesham United.

Chesham have enjoyed a fine start to the campaign and are fourth in the Isthmian Southern Premier South standings.

East Thurrock and Bowers will be on the road when they compete in the FA Trophy for the first time this season.

John Coventry's Rocks are facing a tricky clash against Isthmian Premier League rivals Cheshunt, who are managed by former Billericay Town chief Craig Edwards.

East Thurrock have already beaten Cheshunt this term, having won the opening day encounter 4-1.

Bowers may be involved in a local derby as they will visit the winners of the tie between East Grinstead Town and Aveley.

Canvey are set to do battle with Middlesex's Ashford Town in a preliminary round replay after the initial meeting finished 2-2 at the weekend.

And the victors will make the journey to Chipstead, who are 14th in the Isthmian South Central standings.

The first qualifying round ties will take place on October 26.

The winners are set to pocket £2,450 in prize winnings, while those defeated will receive £800.

Meanwhile, White Ensign will entertain Wroxham in the second round of the FA Vase on November 2.
