DARREN Manning has hailed first team coaches Craig Shipman and Sam Robinson for their instant impact at Hullbridge Sports.

The duo joined the newly-promoted side’s backroom staff shortly after Sports got their hands on the Essex Senior League title.

And Manning insists Shipman and Robinson have played a key role in preparing for Hullbridge’s first campaign in the Isthmian North.

The Sports boss said: “It’s really nice to see how organised the new coaches are and their attention to detail is excellent.

“That is what I wanted and it was a big reason as to why I brought them onto the coaching staff.

“They have been really good so far and, while I was on holiday, they sorted all of pre-season out.

“It’s nice to know that I can trust them and that they already understand what I want.

“I already knew what Craig would bring to the table before he joined us, but he has so much experience in the game and I’m looking forward to seeing that rub off on everyone around the club.

“Sam is a good, young and enthusiastic coach.

“He has been superb from the moment he joined us and he has a big future ahead of him.”

Hullbridge’s first pre-season friendly will see them travel to Great Wakering Rovers’ Burroughs Park home to face Eastern Senior League Division One South side White Ensign.

And Manning cannot wait for the new campaign to get underway.

“We have managed to keep the squad together after winning the title and that was the most important thing for me,” added Manning, who led Sports to the Essex Senior League crown in his first full season in charge.

“I can’t wait to get going and the players’ group chat is buzzing as well because they want the season to start.

“They know it will be tough in a new division where it is unpredictable and there are some big clubs.

“But, at the same time, we know it will be good and we’re looking forward to testing ourselves.”

Meanwhile, Ryan’s Heating have extended their partnership with Sports.

As a result, the newly-promoted side’s home will remain as the Ryan’s Heating Stadium.
