SOUTHEND United have received an apology for their disallowed goal in the FA Cup clash with Barnsley earlier this month.
Michael Turner saw what would have been an equaliser ruled out for offside.
But Blues boss Chris Powell has now received confirmation that the goal should have stood.
"We’ve had an email from the observer who was at the Barnsley game who has said our third goal should have stood," said Powell.
"It’s an apology of sorts and it should’ve been 3-3.
"The assistant referee has said he thought it hit someone on the line but surely in their conversation the referee would have known it hasn’t and said that."
