LAKESIDE Hammers have now been drawn against the Coventry Bees in the semi final of the Elite League Knock-out Cup and will be racing against the Bees on a rare Saturday night met at Arena Essex.

Hammers will go to Brandon Stadium Coventry for the first leg on Friday, October 5. The second leg will take place the following evening.

Hammers Co-Promoter and Team Manager Jon Cook explained how these dates were decided upon stating: "As both the Hammers and the Bees usually race on a Friday night Coventry take priority over dates as they have staged Speedway longer than the Hammers on Friday nights.

"Therefore, we will go to them on Friday for the first leg and I have arranged for them to come to us the following night.

"I would like to thank our local clubs, Eastbourne and Rye House, for allowing us to stage this important meeting on a Saturday, which is their traditional race day. In addition I would also like to thank our stadium owners for their assistance in allowing us to run on the Saturday.

"The Cup match against the Bees will be the most important fixture staged at our Raceway so far this season and by running it on a Saturday evening I hope that it will enable the supporters of both clubs, along with neutrals, to come along to witness what is likely to be a great evening's racing.
