JAMES Webster is confident Aveley will enjoy a successful campaign after getting a full pre-season under his belt.

Webster joined the club as manager last October and initially struggled to get results.

But, having retained key players and signed several more, Webster is excited to get going again in the Isthmian North.

“It has been a successful period as we have got players to stay and brought in our main targets,” he said. “I still have one potential new signing I am in talks with and I am speaking to two more we want to retain.”

The Millers have signed goalkeeper Tim Brown, Sam Cross, Sam Mvemba, James Love, Shad Ngandu and Andy Freeman while retaining a number of players from last season, including Alex Teniola and Tom Richardson.

But Webster is now excited to get going once again.

“It has come around quickly but I am excited for it all now,” he said. “The guys will have looked after themselves and then we will start working on our system and how we want to do things.

“I don’t think we need to make many changes. I missed pre-season last year and I am hopeful that these next few weeks will go a long way to having a good season.”
