Standing tall - Yamaguchi Goju-Kai's students
KARATE: Youngsters from Yamaguchi Goju-Kai got 2018 off to a promising start at the English Kyu Grade Championships.
In the first major tournament of the year, the Grays talents excelled in Leicester against more than 1,000 competitors from clubs across the country.
There were silver medals in the kata for Owen Dixie and Will Minister and bronzes for Sasha Edgeler, Emma Westcott and Maddison Ball.
In the kumite Amalia Olaru won silver and Maddison Ball and Abi Tilbury took bronze.
