JOSH Hutton and Adam Jackman were the winners at the latest Junior American tournament held at Thurrock Lawn Tennis Club.
The event was split into two groups (beginner-intermediate and advanced), with Josh taking the title of the former, ahead of Lexi Ashton and Jozef Urbanowska.
In the advanced competition, Adam finished ahead of Charlotte Stehle and Nathan Wintour.
The winner was the competitor who won the most games from a total of 20 over different rounds.
Elsewhere, the men’s team played in the Brentwood and Stock Summer League against Raphael Park.
Thurrock won the Division 3 match 6-2, with Terry Morgan, Dean Cross, Jack Lloyd and Jaimie Vickers all winning three sets each.
The men are now first in the standings and stand an excellent chance of winning the championship and securing promotion to Division Two.
Thurrock lost 8-0 to Writtle in Division Four.
