Aveley 0-2 Thamesmead Town
From Mill Field
Ryman One North
AVELEY saw red twice as they were beaten by Thamesmead Town at Mill Field.
The Millers lost their discipline in the second-half, with Alex Teniola and Spencer Harrison sent off, as well as their assistant manager Anton Stephenson.
Thamesmead were the better team throughout and started as they meant to go on. James Marrable, in the Aveley goal, was enjoying a terrific afternoon in the home goal although much could be desired of Thamesmead’s finishing.
The frame of the goal also came to Aveley’s rescue as they managed to hold onto their clean sheet at half-time.
And the second-half roared into life very early on. Teniola was adjudged to have used his elbow in an aerial challenge and he was sent off, along with Stephenson for his protestations on the side lines.
The first goal came on the hour mark. Harrison was deemed to have committed a foul in the box and Richard Butler finished well from 12 yards.
And only minutes later it was 2-0. Paul Vines raced forward and finished neatly past Marrable.
The most notable incident of the final third was a second yellow card for Harrison, confirming a miserable end of the year for Aveley.
