Thamesmead Town 0-2 Aveley
From Bayliss Avenue
Ryman One North
AVELEY sit top of the table after overcoming previous table-toppers Thamesmead Town in style.
Strikes from Marcus Elliott and Liam Nash moved the Millers to the top of the standings on goal difference, although they faced a tough ask against the side at the top.
And Aveley started the brighter. Junior Baker could have opened the scoring in the first five minutes but his effort went narrowly wide.
And before long the Millers had opened the scoring. Elliott picked up a loose ball and fired impressively past the home goalkeeper.
And five minutes later Nash continued his fine form to score his fifth goal in just two games. He picked up a ball from Joe Pearman and blasted into the net.
Into the second-half, Tyrus Gordon-Young came within inches of reducing the deficit while Peagram came close up the other end but it was Aveley that held on for the final win.
Aveley: Marrable, Preston, Seymour, Baker, Harrison, Willis, Nash (Stanley), Pearman (Retkoceri), Elbi, Peagram, Elliott
