ATHLETICS: AVELEY’S Modupe Shokunbi missed out on a medal at the UK School Games by the breadth of a vest.
The 15-year-old, who was representing the South East at the Games in Manchester, was involved in a blanket finish in the 100m.
She was given fourth place after a photo finish as she clocked the same time (12.19 seconds) as the bronze medallist and just two hundredths shy of silver (12.17s).
There was some consolation for Shokunbi as she was part of the silver medal winning South East 4x100m relay squad.
