BADMINTON: A THURROCK team has secured promotion from Division Two of the Basildon and Thurrock badminton league Springhouse B team were elevated following a convincing win.
They won all four matches and just pipped the East Thurrock B team to promotion.
The match between Springhouse’s Tom Cottingham and Ken Slaughter and East Thurrock’s Mark Smith and Mark Downey was the crunch game.
But the home team won 31/15.
East Thurrock B won three games, but this total was not enough.
And the East Thurrock C team won two matches and finished fourth in the leaque. The Badminton teams of the area have some spare capacity in the summer if any teams are interested.
