With reference to a recent reader’s letter concerning a parking charge from the operators of Morrisons Supermarket car park in Grays.
I also received an unwarranted charge and wondered if any other readers have?
I parked on June 27 and attempted to buy a ticket but found ALL the machines had a notice upon them stating the machine was out-of-order and parking was therefore free for the day.
I checked with other machines and found all to have the same notice.
On July 8 I received in my post an £85 penalty notice for failing to buy a ticket.
I have appealed to Euro Car Parks to have the charge cancelled but they have failed to respond.
The car park was full so other Thurrock residents must have also been caught and wondered if they also have been fined, and how their appeals are progressing.
I spent £41.79 in the store that day but will consider shopping elsewhere if this happens again and hold Morrisons responsible as they are in charge of who controls their car park and how it is operated.
I would be interested if the management of Morrisons would like to comment on this injustice as to how its customers are being discouraged from parking and shopping there.
