Thurrock Council is appealing for help identifying a truck which spilt concrete onto the A13.
The driver failed to stop after concrete fell from a yellow and grey tipper truck onto the inside lane of the Southend-bound carriageway on the approach to the exit for the Orsett Cock roundabout at about 3.10pm last Thursday (11 July).
The council’s highways contractor attended, briefly closed the slip road and removed the debris from the road.
CCTV footage of the incident has been obtained, but the council is keen to hear from drivers who have any dash cam footage of the incident which will enable the registration of the vehicle to be identified.
The vehicle was not connected to the ongoing A13 road widening project.
Ben Maney, councillor for Highways and Transport, said: “I would like to thank our highways contractor for going above and beyond by attending this incident and swiftly clearing the road, despite that being outside of its usual remit.
“We take road safety extremely seriously and drivers have a responsibility to ensure their loads are secure.
“I would appeal to anyone who was travelling in the area and has dash cam footage to get in touch so we can identify the driver and take the appropriate action.
"Anyone with information or footage should emailHighwaysAssets@thurrock.gov.uk.”
