TWO men have been arrested after police stopped a car in South Ockendon and found suspected drugs.
Officers were carrying out patrols and stop checks as part of Operation Sceptre, last week’s national crackdown on knife crime, when they stopped the Ford Focus in South Road on Saturday.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "The officers found suspected drugs, a four figure sum of cash and drugs paraphernalia.
"An 18-year-old man from Stanford-le-Hope was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in supplying a controlled drug, and a 33-year-old man from Coventry was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in supplying a controlled drug and possession of drugs with intent to supply.
"Both have been released under investigation while we continue our enquiries."
