The Amazon warehouse in Tilbury had a bomb scare this morning which later turned out to be a hoax.
Staff were evacuated from the premises and police arrived at the scene to deal with the situation.
However, when the police arrived they quickly discovered the bomb was a hoax.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: “We were on scene just after 7am this morning at the Amazon Warehouse in Tilbury, following reports of a bomb on site.
"This was quickly established as a hoax.
"Staff were evacuated and a search of the location conducted.
"Enquiries are ongoing into the hoax call."
The bomb fright caused delays on the road this morning, with buses travelling to the docks being diverted.
