PLANS to build new homes and flatten buildings on a former farm have been approved.
Tony Macalle has applied to build six new homes in Balgownie Farm, Lower Dunton Road, Bulphan. Planning officers have approved the decision, which could see the homes built in the next three years.
In his application, Mr Macalle wrote: "The demand for housing in East Thurrock has grown with DP World investment. However, the supply has been more limited and housing delivery has been slow.
"For Thurrock to flourish, to diversify economically, and to facilitate the development of its workforce skills across the board, it is essential therefore that the housing market is diversified in order to offer a real and effective choice for all who wish to live and work in the area."
