A TIME capsule is set to be buried in St Mary’s Church, North Stifford.

Villagers have until today to return the capsule envelopes which have been posted through their letter boxes.

Anyone who wants to take part in the scheme must hand in a cheque for £10 made payable to the Southend Hospital Charity.

In their capsule envelopes must be two photos, one of their house, and one of either family, friends, or pets.

It must be sealed with cellotape, with their name an address on the front.

Envelopes and cheques can be dropped off to the Rectory.

The envelopes will be placed in the time capsule, which will be buried at the church at 11am on November 11.

It will then become the property of Thurrock Museum with instructions to lift the capsule in 100 years time.

Any home that has not received an envelope can call Michael Murphy on 07956 248728 or 01375 370729.
