ST Luke’s Hospice is calling on borough people to sponsor 60 seconds of care by its nurses, by donating £4.62.
St Luke’s Hospice, Basildon, has launched its 60 Seconds Appeal to help the hospice continue caring for terminally ill patients from Thurrock and Basildon.
St Luke’s says in 60 seconds a hospice nurse can deliver pain relief, change a dressing, provide therapy or perhaps just make a supportive phone call to a patient at home – all invaluable services.
It relies on donations to survive and has experienced a recent downturn in donations as a result of the economic situation.
Supporters are being asked to donate £4.62, the amount it costs to keep the hospice open for a minute.
