THURROCK School Sports Partnership has been coordinating a Top Up Swimming programme across the borough schools to enable as many pupils as possible to be swimming at least 25 metres before they leave primary school - thanks to funding received from the ASA (Amateur Swimming Association).
Schools who have taken advantage of the Top Up Swimming Programme so far have been: Shaw, Benyon, Somers Heath, Stifford Primary, Holy Cross, Tudor Court, Tilbury Manor Junior, Dilkes and Aveley Primary.
Organisers have expressed thanks to the instructors at the Ockendon Pool who have been very supportive of the programme and have helped the children achieve their 25 metre standard.
