X FACTOR stars Janet Devlin and The Risk are just two high profile acts confirmed for this year’s T-Fest.

They will be joined at Grays Beach Park by X Factor 2009 stars Lloyd Daniels and Danyl Johnson.

Tall Dark Friend is also back by popular demand.

Jordan Redford Gray, who defines his music as “passionate, dark power pop” will play both days at this year’s event, which is on from Saturday, June 2, to Sunday, June 3.

Jordan, a self taught pianist, who has headlined a number of festivals around the country, is signed to Gary Walker Associates, and is in talks with all the major record companies.

This year’s free event will feature links to the Olympic Torch Relay and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

There will be a mini-Olympic arena, a bunting shop, a food court, and a fun fair.

At noon on Sunday the outdoor performance spectacular Sparks Will Fly will kick off the borough’s Olympic Torch Relay celebrations.

The travelling cultural festival sees two giants, made from specially created structures, going around the country at different events, collecting special glass beads for a huge event at Hylands Park in Chelmsford on Friday, July 6.

Boreas Zephyr, one of two giants, will be collecting Thurrock’s bead, and taking part in the special carnival parade.

The parade will travel from the Hawkes Close car park, off New Road, Grays, and travel along Sherfield Road to Argent Street, turning left towards Manor Way and then right before entering the park itself.

It will be led by the Jugnu Bhangra Group, and will include other Thurrock musical groups, as well as 50 carnival dancers from Gable Hall School in Corringham.

Thurrock Festival is on from 10am to 7pm on both days.
