THE letter from Mr Martin, od Tilbury, referencing the salary of Thurrock Council chief executive Graham Farrant needs clarification.
The previous Tory leader of the council appointed the chief executive at the agreed £200,000.
Presumably both parties were happy with this arrangement and a reduction now would break a contract.
The idea of capping pay at £100,000 sounds fine. Perhaps football clubs and showbiz personalities should go along this line. – R G BEECH, Monks Haven, Stanford-le-Hope.
