A BRAND NEW state-of-art lecture theatre and cinema has opened at William Edwards School and Sports College.
The Stifford Auditorium will be used by students during the day and available to the community in the evening.
On March 23 Stifford Community Forum will be hosting its first meeting at the new venue, which was the classroom of Deputy Headteacher Ralph Henderson for 39 years.
Mr Henderson, M.B.E. was determined to take teaching and learning into the 21st Century and set about this project with the help of colleague Allan Jones.
The whole school community was involved and £26,000 of funds were raised from Veolia, E.S. Cleanaway Mardyke Trust, The Cory Environmental Trust and Stifford Community Forum.
