THURROCK & Basildon College welcomed local employees to its Riverview Restaurant for a coffee morning to discuss learning and business.
Business breakfasts are taking place throughout the country from November 10 to 16 as part of Colleges Week, to celebrate the role colleges play in unlocking talent in communities and transforming the lives of learners.
Colleges Week is led by the Association of Colleges and the Department for Innovation, Universities & Skills (DIUS) in partnership with the Learning & Skills Council (LSC).
During the informal morning over coffee and pastries, Julia Spearman, Acting Principal, invited one of Thurrock & Basildon College’s “newest” employers, Sheila Kamdar, who spoke about the Oak Road Surgery in Canvey Island where she is Practice Manager.
Mrs Spearman added: “Learning is not only about what takes place in the College, it is also about going out more and more into business premises, where learning is a day to day experience.
“Everyone employed at the College has current industry experience; we are able to work with you in addressing your employees’ needs.”
