AN extra blood donor session will take place in Thurrock on Friday, November 14, due to the cancellation of a session elsewhere in the county.
The session will take place at the Methodist Church Hall, High Street, Stanford-le-Hope. Times are 2 to 4pm and 5 to 7.30pm.
Ruth Greenaway, communications manager for the Blood and Transplant Service, said: “This session has been arranged at quite short notice. However, we hope that it is well supported and both new and regular donors are encouraged to attend.”
The NBS is constantly looking for new blood donors to come forward as well as encouraging regular donors to give blood three times a year.
In most cases anyone aged 17-59, who weighs over 7st 12lbs (50kg) in good health can start giving blood. Regular donors can keep on donating until they are 70.
