MEMBERS and their ladies met for lunch on Wednesday, October 8 in the Function Suite of the Langdon Hills Golf Club.
The chairman welcomed everyone, with a special welcome to the ladies.
After normal club business, the Chairman advised that due to a “technical hitch” members were without a guest speaker, and that he would take on that role. In spite of a short notice those present were throughly captivated by a talk which included items under three headings; “The 12 days of Christmas”, “Nursery Rhymes”, and “Pub and Inn Signs.”
We enjoyed a good meal, an informative, at times intriguing talk, and splendid company a very satisfying meeting.
The vote for thanks was proposed by Alan Copson, who presented the Speaker with a bottle of wine, the raffle followed.
The president, in closing the meeting, reminded members that the next meeting will be a Members lunch in the rebuilt Orsett Hall, on Wednesday, November 12.
The next ladies luncheon, is on Wednesday, December 3 and will be held at Orsett Hall.
New members are welcome, for further information, please phone Keith Swain on 01375 677439.
