A LORRY fire on the M25 in Grays is causing delays and disruption for Dartford-bound drivers this morning.

The fire, first reported at 1am this morning, has been extinguished but is continuing to impact journey times at the crossing. 

Delays of five minutes are currently being reported with average speed across the Dartford Crossing estimated as being around 15mph.

An update from the AA states: "Slow traffic due to earlier lorry fire on M25 clockwise from J30 A13 (Lakeside / Purfleet) to J31 A1306 (Lakeside / Purfleet).

"Delays of five minutes on M25 clockwise between J29 A127 Southend Arterial Road (Romford / Basildon) and A282 Canterbury Way. Average speed 15 mph."

Essex Police and the Essex County Fire Service have been contacted for comment.
