Unai Emery has raised doubts over three Aston Villa players for their trip to the Amex – including his star goalkeeper.

Emiliano Martinez is suspended for the first leg of the Conference League semi-final against Olympiacos.

Emery said he also has a “small injury” as Robin Olsen prepares to step in between the sticks.

The Villa boss did not say when he expected Martinez to return, with Youri Tielemans and Alex Moreno also sidelined.

However, Nicolo Zaniolo could be fit after missing the last two games.

Emery told his matchday-minus-one press conference today: “With the injured players, this morning Nicolo Zaniolo was feeling better after yesterday not feeling very well, we are thinking to include him in the squad tomorrow.

“With Tielemans, Emiliano and Alex Moreno tomorrow they are not available. On Sunday, I don’t know.

“They are progressing well but it is three days. I don’t know.”

Martinez went off at half-time in the 2-2 draw at home to Chelsea with a hamstring problem with his side 2-0 up.

Defender Matty Cash said: “Robin has played so many games for his country, he is a really experienced player.

“Emi is probably the world number one, but Robin is a fantastic goalkeeper as well.

“He has got more than enough experience to come in. I’m not the one to tell him he is ready to come in, he knows it.”
