IT'S a monster weekend at The Fat Surfer in Grays, with an under-18s event on Saturday as well as the usual Friday night rock action.

This Friday (16th) sees an appearance by Grays-based metal merchants Murakami supported by We Scorch The Sky - a band who have exploded onto the scene thanks to word of mouth generated by the taster tracks on their myspace site.

Two of the biggest metal bands in the county in one venue on your doorstep. You don't know how lucky you are...

Saturday 17th is tailored towards Thurrock's teens, with a night of the finest alternative music courtesy of Club NME and Pink Toothbrush DJs - open from 7.30pm to 10.30pm.

Entry price for each night is a fiver.

If anyone doesn't know, The Fat Surfer is on London Road, Grays, near to the Morrisons garage and a two-minute walk from the train station. Stand anywhere in town and you'll be able to hear it, should all else fail.
