A BWM driver has been handed six points and a £400 fine after admitting driving without due care and attention.
Rory Watson, 29, of Pittingales Crescent, Braintree, was charged with driving without due care and attention following the incident on the A1017 in Halstead on July 19 last year.
Colchester Magistrates’ Court heard he overtook a vehicle and, due to oncoming traffic, pulled in causing the other vehicle to apply the brakes.
He then overtook another vehicle contravening the double white lines.
Watson admitted the offence when he appeared at court in February.
He was handed six penalty points and fined £443.
Magistrates ruled he must also pay a £44 victim services fund charge and £110 costs.
