A man who allegedly punched a security guard before jumping on a train without a ticket has been arrested.
British Transport Police were called to Chafford Station, near Lakeside, overnight admit reports a passenger had attacked a security guard after he was caught trying to avoid paying for a ticket.
Officers arrived at the scene but were unable to prevent the suspect from boarding a c2c train.
But police in London were able to catch up with him down the line at West Ham Station where he was then arrested.
He is now being quizzed by detectives following the alleged incident.
